Caravans in the Sun is happy to present our latest park in Portugal – set in peaceful countryside yet only a 30 minute drive from the Silver Coast and Lisbon and just 3 km from the local train station with frequent daily links to Lisbon with its fantastic range of shops, restaurants and bars. The park is just a 30 minute drive from Lisbon airport and the glorious beaches along the Silver Coast are easily reached within 30 minutes by car. This mobile home park has one of the most competitive ground rents in Europe – offering fantastic value from only 1,500€ per annum (including water).
The park is on the Setubal Peninsula near Lisbon, the local planning laws do not permit large buildings to be built. The park is open all year and has the advantages of a covered swimming pool (open May – October), restaurant, bar, laundrette, children’s play area – and pets are welcome. The nearest shop is a short walk from the park and the local town is just 2 km away – the town has a full range of amenities including supermarkets, greengrocers, butchers, bakers, bars, restaurants, banks and a giant market on the second Sunday of the month. The local train station is 3 km away and has frequent daily links to and from Lisbon with its fantastic range of shops and restaurants. Famous for producing Muscotel this region also stands out for producing high quality wines – the Mother House of the Wine Route – where you can find and taste many wines is located in an old winery is just a few minutes drive away and the Freeport designer outlet centre at Alcochete is just over 20 kms away. There are facilities for skiing, diving, walking and horse riding and golf within 25 km of the park and the Costa Azul also provides the opportunity to fish for not only sea bream, sole, red mullet and mackerel but also for swordfish and shark. The nearest golf course is just 7km from the park.
The park is a mere 25 minute drive from the Costa Azul (blue coast) and the fishing village of Sesimbra with restaurants where the most famous of their specialities are stuffed stone bass, fish stews, whelk bean stew and fried eels. Sesimbra is set on the southern side of the Setubal Peninsula – a stunning coastline of beautiful beaches, jagged cliffs and crystal clear waters – surrounded by the rolling hills of the Serra da Arrabida National Park – ideal for hiking and cycling. There are also a number of diving locations in Sesimbra including wrecks and coastal dives and the diving centres offer specialist trips for experienced divers or training for less experienced. Less than 40 kms from the park is the former fishing village of Setubal – it has grown into a small town yet still retains its original charm with the castle overlooking the village and small shops. Setubal is also well known for its muscatel and table wines, cheese cakes, pine and honey tarts and “s” shaped biscuits! The beaches along this coast are glorious.

Optional extras can include decking between 3,000€ and 5,000€, air-conditioning at 600€ plus installation, and Jacuzzi. 2) What does a viewing trip include?

4) Do I lose my deposit?
Your deposit will be refunded in full once we have re-sold your reserved mobile home and/or plot, less any expenses that may be incurred by ourselves.

8) How long can I keep my mobile home on site for?
There is no age restriction to mobile homes – you may keep your mobile home on the park for as long as you require – the condition of mobile home and plot must be well maintained.
9) Can I sell or rent my mobile home if required?
Yes, we can advertise your mobile home for sale on our website, please click here to view our mobile home resale service. Subletting is permitted.
10) What facilities are available on site?
The park has a swimming pool (open May-October), bar, restaurant, laundrette, children’s play area and a sports area.

Not necessarily –the train station in the nearby town has daily links to and from Lisbon and the coast.

The nearest golf course is 7 kms from the park and the nearest beach is around 20 km (25 minutes’ drive) from the park.
14) How far is the site from the nearest airport?
The park is just 25 kms from Lisbon Airport – the largest airport in Portugal.
15) What is the weather like?
This area has hot summers and grey mild winters – there is very little rain in the summer and the number of wet days increases and the temperature drops after September. Temperatures can reach 30ºC in the summer and winter temperatures can reach as high as 19ºC with a daily winter average temperature of approximately 12ºC
16) Are pets allowed on site?
Pets are welcome on the park.
17) How long is the site open for and how long can I stay here for?
The park is open 12 months of the year so you may stay as long as you like and visit as often as you wish
18) Does all work on plots have to be done by site owners
Residents can work on their plots with the prior agreement from the park – who can help with the supply of sheds if required.
Viewing trips to Lisbon, Portugal – Mobile homes for sale
We have 2 options available on this mobile home park. Option 1 – Local accommodation for 2 nights in Lisbon. Alternatively, option 2 – You can make an appointment to be shown around the park and the homes available during a day visit.
Option 1 – Your viewing trip starts when your hotel shuttle meets you at Lisbon airport, your trip will be 2 nights and 3 days stay in a hotel in Lisbon within walking distance to local amenities and city centre etc. We all know that travelling can be tiring so on your arrival day you will be able to relax for the rest of the day/evening after being collected from the airport. If required your hotel reception will be happy to give you information on the local area, the location of amenities, the way to the sea front, restaurant’s etc.
The next day you can catch the train to the local station near the park, park, will meet you there and show you around the site and answer any further questions you may have before dropping you back at your hotel. Then on day 3 head back to the airport for your return flight home. please note we recommend 2 hotels next to the train station and only 5 minutes from the airport by car.
Option 2 – You contact our office with your planned travel arrangements and day of arrival with an approximate time for when you would like to view the park. We then make the arrangement for you to come and view the park and homes (where applicable). Unfortunately an appointment is necessary to view the park as this is a residential style community and we like to keep disruption to home owners to a minimum. We do not employ high pressure sales teams and at no time during the visit will you be under any pressure or obligation to purchase. We believe that the product, once seen sells itself and if you are interested, you will contact us to complete the purchase. We will then ensure that you are given our full assistance and guide you through your purchase if required.
Your travel arrangements are booked in conjunction with our UK office subject to availability. This will be coordinated with our customer service team in Portugal. We can give friendly advice and help about where and how to book your flights and car hire if required; we can arrange and reserve your accommodation (approximately £49 per night). Please note: Brand new mobile homes are not already sited on the mobile home park, these models must be viewed in the UK either prior to, or after your park visit. Please call us if you are interested in viewing a new mobile home, we will locate your requested make/model of home on a showground in the UK, trying to provide a location as close to you as we possibly can. Any resale mobile homes we may have listed on the website are situated on the park and will be available to view with your appointment.
Viewing trip costs will be refunded up to a maximum of £150 if you proceed to purchase. Your accommodation invoice, flight receipt or ferry receipt will be required for the credit adjustment and will be shown as a credit on your final invoice. The cost is not redeemable in conjunction with any other special offer, price reduction, discounts or promotions.
