'Caravans in the Sun' - Mobile home resale service and our charges

Caravans in the Sun have a dedicated sales team and a large database of customers wanting to purchase a mobile home in the sun. Our main aims are to match customers already on our database to the homes that come available and then to convert general phone and email enquiries into park visits / viewing trips. We arrange all aspects of the visits, we pay for and offer subsidised flights, ferries and on site accommodation for all prospective customers. Sometimes the homes for sale don’t even make it on to our website; in a number of cases we can match the home for sale with a customer already on our database and complete a sale very quickly.

When you place your home up for sale with us our aim is to sell your home with limited input required from the owner. By fully completing our authorisation forms we collect the majority of the information needed to enable us to deal with the majority of enquiries, we may only need to contact you from time to time. You will have a dedicated staff member who will look after your account, makes any changes you require, suggest ways to encourage a sale and be available for any updates you would like.

How we work… Firstly we have to figure out how much you would like to get when your home sells, to help we do offer a no obligation free valuation service for your home and plot, we use the trade guide to the caravans industry – The Glass Guide as a basis for our valuation. Alternatively, if you already have a figure in mind we can trial the home at this figure and evaluate the price within the coming months. If you require a valuation, internal and external images need to be taken of the home and forwarded to us by email. If you are unable to complete this we can do this for you. Once a valuation figure has been agreed, we can then work out the price we will advertise the home for and the 19.6% TVA amount that will be charged by the French authorities on the sale.

For this charge, Caravans in the sun will market your home throughout our extensive marketing campaigns, including magazines, newspapers and online advertising as well as on our website. We will find a suitable purchaser for your home, our customer service team manage all email and phone enquiries for your mobile home, we arrange the viewing trips with potential clients and will advise the customer on their choice of doing either a self drive or an accompanied viewing trip. The company offers modern on site holiday home accommodation for the customer who is viewing a mobile home on the self drive trip and they also escort the customers from the UK for an accompanied viewing trip which is all subsidised within our costs if the buyer purchases your home. We also complete all of the administration, including your 19.6% TVA due to the French authorities. Please bear in mind that our commission charge does not include the costs charged by your park to sell your mobile home, please ask you site owner / manager for these costs as they may vary from park to park. All of these costs are added to the amount you would like to recoup from the sale of your mobile home to enable you to receive the full amount you would like from the sale of your mobile home. We will advertise the home for the increased amount to cover all costs, including our own charge.
