Hi all, I’m Bambi.
I have worked with Caravans in the Sun for many years in Spain helping find their dream holiday or retirement home in the sun.
In 2018 I was asked by Caravans in the Sun if I wanted to appear in Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun on Channel 5, as they were moving from Benidorm (having filmed the first 3 series there) to the Costa del Sol. They wanted a park and a character – not sure why they thought of me? Haha! I agreed, thinking I would feature for about 1 minute in the whole 8 episodes.
I filmed during the summer and kind of forgot about it. I didn’t even watch the first few episodes, as I wasn’t sure what would make the final edit. I was surprised by the amount I was in the 4th series, but happy I came across as myself.
Then in 2019 I was invited back to film series 5! And then again in 2020 for series 6!
At the end of 2020 I was relocated by Caravans in the Sun (with my own mobile home) from the original park I filmed on. I left the Costa del Sol for beautiful, glorious El Rocio on The Costa de la Luz.
La Aldea Mobile Home park is in the Donana National Park a short walk from the amazing El Rocio town and a 10 minute drive from the beach. I can honestly say I have never been so happy as I have been living in this stunning location. Best move I ever made!
I forgot about the TV. I had made 3 series and I was happy with my input.
Until.. this year, I was called by one of the producers who said he would love me to take part in the new series! I told him I didn’t live on the Costa Del Sol anymore and his words were “We won’t let a few hundred miles stop us!”
So we have had another busy summer/autumn 2021 of filming, this time on the Costa del Sol and the Costa De La Luz (apparently they are changing the name to Bargain Loving Brits-Costa Living) Which is brilliant.
The TV company has filmed 40 episodes this time (a massive undertaking)! 20 episodes back in Benidorm (which starts Sunday 9th Jan, 8pm, Channel 5) And 20 on other Costas.
I definitely had the most fun filming this series. And as I’m much happier where I live now I didn’t feel any pressure and I got time to spend with my friends filming on the Costa del Sol too. I was also recognised lots in Torremolinos! People shouting out my name, waving in the street and stopping to chat to me (it was strange)! But everyone was so kind and positive.
I do hope you enjoy the new series as much as we enjoyed filming it.
