Caravans in the Sun is happy to announce our latest park in the South of France – located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Languedoc-Roussillon region – less than 10 minutes’ drive away from 7 km of sandy Blue Flag beaches of the Mediterranean Sea and within a 25 minute drive of Perpignan Airport. Charming villages, beautiful beaches, nearby nature reserves, adventure and water sports combined with 300 days of sunshine each year provide the perfect opportunity for wonderful holidays.
This friendly park is open 12 months of the year and facilities include a seasonal open air swimming pool, bar, restaurant and take-away – some groceries are also available including fresh bread daily. The laundrette, sports facilities and children’s playground are open all year, weekly evening entertainment and a free beach shuttle is organised during high season. The nearby town is situated on a long sweeping bay that looks out onto the Pyrenees and the warm Mediterranean Sea – the town has supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, boutiques, restaurants and bars a Catalan style morning market and an evening market by the beach. The local Theme Park and the local adventure park both have excitement for all ages and there are opportunities for scuba diving training, fishing, windsurfing, boat hire and boat trips and fishing expeditions along the coast and into Spain. Wine lovers will enjoy visiting local caves and vineyards offering “tastings”, railway enthusiasts will enjoy the local railway museum and there are two nearby Nature Reserves to explore.
Perpignan – with its medieval centre has a distinctly Catalan feel and is only a short drive away – the river Basse runs through the centre and has beautifully planted gardens running along its edge. The highlight of Perpignan is its lovely Palace of the Kings of Majorca – this was built in the 13th century for the court of Jacques II of Majorca and is a mix of civil and military architecture. It is built of a lovely red brick and from its walls there are excellent views over the city and surrounding area. Why not take a trip to Spain? – the charming border village of Portbou is less than an hour away – by road – or by rail. The pretty pebbled beach is on a wonderful bay and the main beach is never too busy even in the height of the season. The tiny (468 sq. km) independent principality of Andorra situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees Mountains is approximately a 3 hour drive and is a land of narrow valleys and mountainous landscapes popular for skiing and trekking. The pretty villages and hamlets dotted along the main road that crosses this small country are filled with Romanesque churches and houses built in a unique local style. Andorra is known not only for its ski resorts and tax haven status that encourages duty free shopping but also for the jewellers, fashion boutiques and shopping centres of its capital Andorra La Vella – which is small enough to discover on foot.

8) How long can I keep my mobile home on site for?
There is no age restriction to mobile homes – you may keep your mobile home on the park for as long as you require – the condition of mobile home and plot must be well maintained.
9) Can I sell or rent my mobile home if required?
Yes, we can advertise your mobile home for sale on our website, please click here to view our mobile home resale service. Subletting is permitted through the park’s letting service using their terms, conditions and rates.
10) What facilities are available on site?
The park has an outdoor swimming pool, Restaurant and Bar (with weekly entertainment in high season) – all open from 1st June until the end of August. The sports areas with billiards, football, table tennis, petanque , badminton and volleyball and the laundrette are open all year.
11) What facilities are nearby?
The nearby town has banks, butchers, bakeries, boutiques, supermarkets, markets restaurants and bars. There are nearby beaches and also opportunities for fishing and scuba diving.
12) Would I need to hire a car whilst over there?
We do recommend that our customers drive in France, parts can be very remote and public transport is not as regular as the UK.
13) How far are the nearest golf courses and beaches situated?
The park is approximately 10 minutes drive from the nearest beach and several golf courses within 15 minutes from the park including Golf de Montescot which is 10 minutes’ drive away.
14) How far is the site from the nearest airport?
The park is just over 20 minute’s drive from Perpignan Airport
15) What is the weather like?
The local climate is warm and temperate with winter months rainier than the summer months. The temperature here averages 15.6°C. July is the warmest and driest month of the year when the temperature averages 23.7°C. October is the wettest month of the year and January is the coldest month – with temperatures averaging 8.2°C.
16) Are pets allowed on site?
Cats and Dogs are permitted – with the exception of Category 1 and Category 2 dogs.
17) How long is the site open for and how long can I stay here for?
The park is open 12 months of the year, if owners stay for over 9 consecutive months of the year they must pay a supplement of 550€.
18) Does all work on plots have to be done by site owners?
Owners can do their own gardens with the park owner’s permission and a small wooden storage shed can be installed on the plot.
Viewing trips to France, Languedoc-Roussillon, Argelès-sur-Mer
We have 2 options available on this mobile home park. Option 1 – 2 nights accommodation in a local hotel (Or mobile home on site where available) with a tour of the park, the viewing of mobile homes, tour of local area and possible collection from airport. Alternatively, option 2 – you can make an appointment to be shown around the park and the homes available during a day visit.
Option 1 – Your viewing trip starts when you meet up with our customer service team at Perpignan airport or at your hotel in Perpignan where you can check-in and make the arrangements to view the park and the local area the following day. You will now be able to relax for the rest of the day/evening. If required our team can inform you of the local area, the location of amenities, the way to the sea front, harbour, restaurants and answer any initial questions you may have.
The next day they will show you around the site and answer any further questions you may have. You may then want to take a walk along the beach, explore surrounding towns and villages, take a drive around the local area or visit some of the local attractions. If you would like to take a drive and explore yourself then our team will always be on hand for advice, directions and any other information you may require.
That night you get to relax in your hotel again before heading back to the airport for your return flight home. You may wish to return to the park the following day for a final look before flying back, this is fine and our team will be available to take you back for a second look.
Option 2 – You contact our office with your planned travel arrangements and day of arrival with an approximate time for when you would like to view the park. We then make the arrangement for you to come and view the park and homes (where applicable). Unfortunately an appointment is necessary to view the park as we like to keep disruption to home owners to a minimum and entrance to the park is via a security barrier.
We do not employ high pressure sales teams and at no time during the visit will you be under any pressure or obligation to purchase. We believe that the product, once seen sells itself and if you are interested, you will contact us to complete the purchase. We will then ensure that you are given our full assistance and guide you through your purchase if required.
Your travel arrangements are booked in conjunction with our UK office subject to availability. This will be coordinated with our customer service team in France. We can give friendly advice and help about where and how to book your flights and car hire if required; we can arrange and reserve your accommodation (Usually payable locally on arrival at the hotel). It may be possible for us to collect and return you to Perpignan airport. Please note: Resale mobile homes we may have listed on the website are situated on the park and will be available to view with your appointment. Brand new mobile homes are not situated on the park as they are newly built in the UK prior to transportation and installation.
Viewing trip costs will be refunded up to a maximum of £150 if you proceed to purchase. Your accommodation invoice or flight receipt will be required for the credit adjustment and will be shown as a credit on your final invoice.
