Caravans in the Sun is very happy to be associated with this established residential style mobile and park home site in the southern Costa Blanca. This English, family-owned park is within walking distance of the local Spanish town yet offers peace and tranquillity in a rural setting surrounded by orange and lemon groves with mountain views. The park is 30 minutes’ drive from Alicante Airport and just 35km from the fine white sandy beaches of La Marina and Guardamar.
The park is English owned and has a small selection of larger than average size plots – some of which can be designed to suit larger homes and lodges – offering a perfect retirement setting and relaxing lifestyle within a small friendly community. The park has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, bar (open Fridays and Sundays) and a petanque area, dogs are allowed and WiFi is available. There are lovely walks in the fantastic countryside around the park and horse riding and pony trekking facilities are available locally.
Set with the stunning Sierra de Crevillente for a backdrop, the local town has excellent walking trails and is just a short ride, cycle, or easy walk from the park. The town has the advantages of supermarkets, banks, shops, bars, restaurants, medical centre, dentists, chiropodist, vets, indoor swimming pool and gym – and of course a weekly market (Thursdays). The local train station has good services to Murcia and Alicante (change stations in Alicante for the Airport). Annual festivals include St James the Apostle and the Moors and Christians Festival – both held in July. The nearby Parque de la Huerte (Park of the Orchards) stretches to 30,000m² of gardens – with a lake, fountain and a variety of marked out walking routes. In the heart of the park is the impressive outdoor auditorium which hosts musical events and seats 3,000 people.
The lively town of Alicante with its stunning beaches is easily reached by road or rail. Few will want to miss climbing to the Castle of Santa Barbara and enjoying stunning views of the city or visiting St Mary’s Church – built over 3 centuries on the site of a former Moorish mosque. Not to be missed is a visit to the Explanada de España promenade – a lively boulevard dotted with terraces and pavement cafés and running parallel to one of the town’s wharves. Both sides are lined with rows of palm trees and the floor is decorated with 6,600,000 tricolour marble tiles in a wave effect mosaic pattern.
