PRE-DEPARTURE COVID TESTS FOR ENGLAND SCRAPPED

The latest news in the travel industry state that from TODAY PCR tests for UK Arrivals are to be scrapped.

These changes have been welcomed by the aviation industry who saw a 30% decrease in passenger numbers in December when new rules came into play to combat the spread of the omicron variant.

The chief executive of the industry body Airlines UK, said: “This is a hugely welcome move at a critical time in the booking season for passengers, and will provide a massive boost to those wanting to travel abroad or come to the UK this year. People will now be able to book knowing that – for the fully vaccinated – all emergency testing restrictions have been removed.” – Tim Alderslade

Eligible fully vaccinated travellers will no longer have to take a pre-departure test or self-isolate on arrival in England
