Caravans in the Sun is pleased to offer another stunning park in Andalucia near the beautiful towns of Mojacar and Almeria with easy access to the airport at Almeria. The park has been designed with terraces and a large selection of trees, shrubs and hedges to help provide an element of privacy and relaxation in mind and will strictly enforce noise limits at night to ensure the peace of the residents.
The facilities of the park are available all year and include a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, shop (UK newspapers, fresh bread etc), play areas and a laundrette and the park has arranged short term memberships of the Almeria Lawn Bowling Club (onsite) for home owners to enjoy all the arranged events. Special nights with entertainment are a regular occurrence in the bar / restaurant throughout the year and there is a free shuttle bus to the local market every Tuesday.
The nearby town has the advantages of shops, bars, restaurants, banks, pharmacy, doctor’s surgery and dentist. The town is the starting point of a walking trail – following the route of an old mining train and the local area provides many opportunities for walking, hiking and cycling (cycles can be hired from the park). The beach resorts of Mojacar, Garrucha and Vera are all a mere 20 minute drive from the town and the Cabo de Gata Natural Park is just half an hour away – there is also a bus service with a limited timetable from the town to the coast.
Garrucha is a traditional Spanish fishing town, nestled between the beaches of Mojácar and Vera. A beautiful and lively town, it still retains much of its original charm. The town is famous for the quality of its large red prawns, only fished in the local waters and Garrucha claims to be the ‘Seafood capital of the Costa Almeria’. Fishing is the area’s main industry and main source of income and the town boasts an excellent selection of seafood restaurants and bars, most of which can be found along the seafront serving the fresh catch of the day. Garrucha is also well known for its magnificent, golden sandy beaches, stretching as far as the eye can see. The wide beach and fine sands offer a perfect place to sunbathe, play sports or just stroll along and enjoy the scenery and local life passing by. The beach opposite the town centre is a blue flag beach, the only town beach in Europe to be awarded the prestigious blue flag.
The Moorish old town of Mojacar is perched high on a hill looking down on 17kms of unspoilt beaches. Sandwiched between the mountains of the Sierra Cabrera and the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, this captivating town with whitewashed ancient buildings, labyrinths of winding cobbled streets, alleys and romantic courtyards has magnificent views to the mountains, sea and Taberna desert. Mojacar Playa situated below the ancient village provides a completely different atmosphere – a modern lively resort town which has been tastefully developed in keeping with the traditional feel of the area- with 9 kilometres of sandy beaches and great facilities.

7) What are the plot sizes?

8) How long can I keep my mobile home on site for?
As long as required, condition of mobile home and plot must be well maintained.

10) What facilities are available on site?
The park has a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, shop, laundrette, bowls and play areas – all facilities are open for 12 months of the year.
11) What facilities are nearby?
The nearest shops are scattered throughout the streets of the nearby town and include bakers, butchers, fishmongers, mini markets, a chemist, a hardware store, an electrical store, shoes shops and clothes shops. There are also cafes, bars, restaurants, two banks, doctor’s surgery and a dentist and every Tuesday morning, the local market sets out its stalls offering an array of produce including locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables.
The local area provides good opportunities for walking, hiking and cycling, fishing and diving are available at the coast and the Sierra Cabrera mountains are within easy reach for climbing and hiking.
12) Would I need to hire a car whilst over there?
It would be advisable to hire a car to enjoy the local area – however there is a shuttle service from the park to and from Almeria Airport (18€) and Alicante Airport (35€) and a free shuttle to the local Tuesday market. The nearest bus stop is in the nearby town with a limited service to the coast and there is no local railway.
13) How far are the nearest golf courses and beaches situated?
The nearest golf course is just 10km from the park and the nearest beach is 10km from the park.
14) How far is the site from the nearest airport?
The nearest Airport is Almeria Airport – there is a shuttle bus service (18€).
15) What is the weather like?
The hottest month of the year is August with an average temperature of 27°C (80°F) and the average sea temperature is 25°C. The coldest month of the year is January with an average temperature of 13°C (55°F). Rain is scarce – the wettest time of the year is from October to April while in Summer it hardly ever rains.
16) Are pets allowed on site?
Yes – pets are allowed and there is a dedicated part of the park for mobile homes for pet owners.
17) How long is the site open for and how long can I stay here for?
The park is open for 12 months of the year and owners may stay for as long a they wish
18) Does all work on plots have to be done by site owners?
Mobile home owners can work on their own plot and garden but please ask the park owner’s permission. Garden sheds with plumbing are allowed but must be assembled by the park owner (cost approx..700€).
Arrange a viewing
We have 2 options available on this mobile home park. Option 1 – 2 nights accommodation in a hotel with a tour of the park, the viewing of mobile homes, tour of local area and possible collection from airport. Alternatively, option 2 – you can make an appointment to be shown around the park and the homes available during a day visit.
Please note: Any resale mobile homes we may have listed on the website are situated on the park and will be available to view with your appointment.
Viewing trip costs will be refunded up to a maximum of £150 if you proceed to purchase a brand new mobile home (excludes pre-owned resale homes). Your accommodation invoice or flight receipt will be required for the credit adjustment and will be shown as a credit on your final invoice. The cost is not redeemable in conjunction with any other special offer, price reduction, discounts or promotions.
Your viewing trip starts when you meet up with our customer service team either at the airport or at your hotel in Almeria where you can check-in and make the arrangements to view the park and the local area the following day. You will now be able to relax for the rest of the day/evening. If required our team can inform you of the local area, the location of amenities, the way to the sea front, harbour, restaurants and answer any initial questions you may have.
The next day they will show you around the site and answer any further questions you may have. You may then want to take a walk along the beach, explore surrounding towns and villages, take a drive around the local area or visit some of the local attractions in Almeria. If you would like to take a drive and explore yourself then our team will always be on hand for advice, directions and any other information you may require.
That night you get to relax in your hotel again before heading back to the airport for your return flight home. You may wish to return to the park the following day for a final look before flying back, this is fine and our team will be available to take you back for a second look.
At no time during the visit will you be under any pressure or obligation to purchase. We will then ensure that you are given our full assistance and guide you through your purchase.
You contact our office with your planned travel arrangements and day of arrival with an approximate time for when you would like to view the park. We then make the arrangement for you to come and view the park and homes. Unfortunately an appointment is necessary to view the park as this is a residential style community and we like to keep disruption to home owners to a minimum. We do not employ high pressure sales teams and at no time during the visit will you be under any pressure or obligation to purchase. We believe that the product, once seen sells itself and if you are interested, you will contact us to complete the purchase. We will then ensure that you are given our full assistance and guide you through your purchase if required.
Your travel arrangements are booked in conjunction with our UK office subject to availability. This will be coordinated with our customer service team in Spain. We can give friendly advice and help about where and how to book your flights and car hire if required; we will arrange and reserve your accommodation (Usually payable locally on arrival at the hotel). It may be possible for us to collect and return you to Alicante airport.
