If you are hoping for a relaxing holiday in a static caravan, then the seaside town of Le Touquet has something to offer the entire family. The town offers wonderful places to eat, charming streets to explore and glorious wide open, sandy beaches.

More formally known as Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, this area of northern France has been a popular resort for more than a century. Originally forest and sand dunes, the town became known as “Paris by the sea” and attracted many famous people such as Noel Coward, HG Wells and PG Wodehouse. Lots of development took place in the 1920s, and there are many architectural gems to be seen from the town’s glamorous past.

If you are relocating abroad, then Le Touquet has much to offer with peace and tranquillity over the winter months and plenty of activities during the summer season when holiday homes and lodges fill with tourists and regular visitors. Many sporting events are held in Touquet when the weather is warmer, and there are architectural walks to visit the outstanding buildings from the town’s vibrant history. If you embark on an historic monuments walk, there are 18 wonderful sites to visit. In addition, there are beach competitions and events for all ages, including building sandcastles.

Located at the mouth of the Canche river, those enjoying a relaxing holiday in a static caravan who want to explore nature can visit the Bay of Canche Nature Park. Here, families can explore the sand dunes, the pine forest and see the beach grasses. There is also a museum in the forest, situated in a converted home from the 1930s, where you can enjoy around 800 works by artists from the local community on display. The nature park is easily accessible from Le Touquet by bicycle or even on foot.

You can also visit the Canche lighthouse, which rises to an impressive 57 metres. If you feel like some exercise after a big breakfast of croissants and delicious French cheeses, then you can ascend the 274 steps to the top for incredible views of the area.

For those staying in static caravans or holiday homes who are interested in wellness, Le Touquet also offers a thalassotherapy centre where visitors can indulge in relaxing and rejuvenating treatments for the body and mind.

Le Touquet, of course, offers many fine restaurants and cafes for dining out, along with well-stocked supermarkets and open-air markets where visitors can buy fine ingredients to take back to holiday homes or static caravans and prepare themselves.

There are many pros of caravan ownership, as caravans allow you to feel at home just about anywhere. When you find the caravan of your dreams, it is easy to arrange for it to be transferred to the country and caravan site of your choice. Le Touquet boasts some superb sites for locating static caravans which will give many years of holiday pleasure.

For a relaxing holiday in a static caravan, Le Touquet really is a delightful area with entertainment and cultural attractions for all ages. With such magnificent beaches, walks on the sand are an activity that everyone in the family can enjoy together and many people return to holiday homes here year after year to enjoy this wonderful coastal region.
